The W-A3 model is identical in design to the A2, but is tuned in G/D, or F/C. The parallel reed pans allow for optimal chamber dimensions, which results in a full, rich sound. 

The A-3 is only available with the Wakker long scale tapered reeds option. The reed scaling and long scale reeds without tip weights offer a more powerful tone, better balance, and much faster reed response than the vintage (parallel) reeds. 
The standard A3 configuration has hardwood flat ends. Metal ends are optional.
