The W-A5 model is an octagonal 39/40 key anglo. It has the Wakker 'block' reedpan, which is also used in the A6 and duet models. This reedpan design allows for optimal chamber dimensions, which results in a full, rich sound.

The A-5 is only available with the Wakker long scale tapered reeds option. The reed scaling and long scale reeds without tip weights offer a more powerful tone, better balance, and much faster reed response than the vintage (parallel) reeds.
The standard A5 configuration has hardwood flat ends. Metal inserts are optional.
